Pupil absences - school safeguarding procedures

All absences must be reported to the school office by 8.50am each day.  If the office staff are not aware of a reason for your child's absence, you will be contacted by Schoolping/Classdojo/telephone to confirm the reason for absence.

If we are unable to communicate to a parent/carer and therefore have no reason for the absence, we will try to speak to other contacts we have on record.

If no contact has been made after 30 minutes, a Safe and Well visit to the pupil's home address may be carried out by a Designated Safeguarding Lead and colleague, to ensure your child is safe.

This is a safeguarding requirement for all schools.

Please help us to reduce the work involved in checking a pupil absence, by always leaving an absence message on the school number 01924 462053.  This message can be left at any time - for example, if your child is unwell in the night you can ring school and leave a message that the office can pick up in the morning.

Thank you for your assistance in this important matter.
